The clouds that persisted throughout the day broke just in time for the most perfect sunset over the water as the library was converted and filled with candlelit tables. We spent time on the beach before dinner was served for Tyler & Da’s closest family and friends. A toast was given by Tyler’s siblings, and everyone danced the night away. “Easy, Breezy” comes to mind when I think of Cullen & Hunter and the time we got to spend with them from engagement to their wedding day. Each interaction we shared was laid back, low-key, and filled with trust – Honestly, you can’t ask for more as a photographer!

September’s cooler temperatures greeted us as soon as we arrived at the top of Mount Falcon Park for this Elopement style shoot. We walked dusty trails through evergreens and golden brush to giant rocks overlooking blue valleys below. The colors of Colorado’s landscape simply cannot be beat. We got to work with some people in Denver that truly exceeded our expectations. We always find it so beautiful to see the talents of so many come together. Allow me to brag on them for just a moment!

Enter Marc & Maya… looking the absolute opposite. Hot without the messes if you will, haha. They leaned right in with us and blew us away with their comfortable, gentle, and FUN love in front of the camera. We were pretty instantly in love.

Nick and Abby’s living room, filled with mid-century modern furniture and quirky art, flanked by Majesty Palms was the perfect setting for their totally laid back engagement session. French press coffee, a record player, chips and queso, and a private rehearsal of their first dance in the living room were all involved in the making of these magical images!

What happens when two of your closest friends look like models, have the most beautiful natural hair you’ve ever seen, and take you on a day trip to the mountains? You get a magical anniversary session like this one.

Dustin & Kerry’s joy throughout the day was quiet & unassuming but deep. We noticed them multiple times in their own little world just taking it all in. Sometimes photographing them felt like an intrusion (in the best way possible). We deeply value creating spaces like this for couples on their wedding day, so to see Dustin & Kerry naturally place themselves there totally warmed our hearts.

There’s something about creating that will calm all the crazy in my head and heart. It’s something larger than my stresses and worries - that comes along to quiet them when I decide to show up. It reminds me of what’s truly important and that the rest of it is simply noise.

Most importantly, we were reminded that poor weather doesn’t have to make or break your photo session. Letting go of control and embracing whatever you’re faced with can truly make the day even better. Especially, pardon the cheesiness, with the one you love beside you. Gentry & Taylor laid it all out from their first look: the joy, the tears, the small squeals of delight. They were high school sweethearts, and we knew this day had been on their minds for quite some time. The excitement of that long-awaited dream coming true filled every room, and their history was on full display in the way Taylor looked at him and how Gentry couldn’t help but tear up looking back at her. – Which, of course, made US tear up and the day had hardly begun!

Their families gathered in his sister’s backyard for the most intimate ceremony we’d ever been a part of. Stripped of all the fluff, the stress, and the large audiences usually associated with a wedding day, Ty & Madison were fully able to stay present as they promised their lives to each other. There was the usual cake cutting and first dance but even these events seemed to hold a little more weight than usual.
